Part 1 - Support and Comments on Teammates' Goals

I made comments on two of my teammates' journals. Links are down below.

Part 2 - Possible Capstone Ideas

For the capstone project at the end of the CSUMB CS Program, I haven’t given it too much thought as of yet, so apologies for the ideas being a bit vague. However, I think it may be interesting to tackle something similar to software engineering, or even create a startup on a project. I want to try and do something that is similar to what I want to do in the future, which is to be a part of game development, but also respect my teammates interest in their future, so it may not even happen. So with that in mind, I would like to try and make a small indie game, game engine, or something similar, if there is enough time of course. Another project I would like to work on is a web application that focuses on helping users complete a set of goals in creating a game such as having a story, game genre, game design, prototyping, etc. For a third possible project, maybe create an application or web page that can allow users to share game statistics with their friends such as what types of games they like, how they perform on each game, what games they have in common with each other, what achievements they have across platforms, etc.

Part 3 - Other Weekly Topics

This week's module for the class, was lighter than usual when it comes to submitting assignments. However, it did involve a lot of thought for our future as computer scientists. This week's lecture assignments had our teams come together and decide what we wanted to do for our final video-project as well as vote for other teams' lists of video-projects. We also continued our OLI readings which was about recognizing conflicts with team members and the different approaches to conflict resolution. For the writing lab, we continued working on our ethics essays and added onto what can be found in arguments such as logical fallacies. To practice, there was a discussion in which we pointed out where we have heard or seen these fallacies. This would act as a warmup to spot logical fallacies when researching different arguments on our essays which will bolster the credibility of the final draft.
