CST 300 - Module 8

Part 1 - Review Other Teams’ Final Video Projects

Otter Devs Tutoring Center: AR?VR in Education and Healthcare

Long Video: AR/VR in Education and Healthcare (Professional Use) (youtube.com)

Short Video: AR/VR in Education and Healthcare (Public Use) (youtube.com)

  1. Both videos are well covered, and the information is obviously more in depth in the long video.

  2. The presentation is very clear in the long video, including a PowerPoint which makes it easy to take notes and to briefly recognize the main points in each section of the video.

  3. As I said earlier, the research is abundant and allows the viewer to easily understand the uses of AR/VR in education/healthcare, as well as how it is possible.

  4. Both videos show a sense of time and diligence with the amount of work that was put into its production. Though I would argue that more effort in video production went into the shorter video.

  5. Both videos are engaging because of the quality and effort put into them. Though, the shorter video I believe was more engaging and interesting as it shows footage of people portraying the use of AR/VR in education/healthcare.

  6. There are clear signs of teamwork in both videos, with all 5 team members having a role in each video and their research.

  7. Each video is appropriate for their intended audience, while keeping them both professional. The long video being for those familiar with the tech industry, and the long video being for the general public.

Long Video: (CST300 Spring 2024) Professional Video: Brain-Computer Interface (youtube.com)

Short Video: (CST300 Spring 2024) Casual Video: Brain-Computer Interface (youtube.com)

  1. Once again, the topic is covered well within both videos. With the exception of providing the same amount of detail in both videos.

  2. Both presentations are clear, making it easy to understand everything mentioned in both videos. The longer video uses a PowerPoint but lacks images. However, the presentation is still clear as it was intended for a more well-versed audience.

  3. The quality of the research is great, as I said, I feel it was easy to understand the topic, and it was mostly because of the amount of research done.

  4. The long video’s production quality was good, using what was required and took a strategy to avoid any unnecessary distractions. While the short video was great in using videos to support their topic to the general public.

  5. Both videos are interesting, though I would argue that the short video is more engaging because of its use of visual aids to support their research.

  6. It is clear that each team member contributed their share to the research and production of both videos.

  7. As I had already mentioned, both videos do a great job of providing information to both types of audiences. The short video being more for the general public, and the long video being for professionals.

Bit of Otter: Augmented Reality

Long Video: Augmented Reality - Computing Professional (youtube.com)

Short Video: Augmented Reality - General Public (youtube.com)

  1. This group's topic is well covered, providing as much information as possible. Mentioning here that the presentation covers the history to the future of AR, as well as its challenges and limitations. (I don’t think you would want to re-read the same sentence over and over again, so I left it last).

  2. The presentation for both videos are clear, with distinct categories being covered with a PowerPoint.

  3. The research is great and represented in both videos. With strong evidence of research in the long video.

  4. The quality of video production is good. Both videos use a good number of images to show the viewers what has been done, as well as what can be done.

  5. Both videos are engaging and interesting. It uses examples I have seen and interacted with in the past, which also can apply to the general public.

  6. There are obvious signs of teamwork with both videos, with each team member having a role in both of them.

  7. The information presented in both videos are appropriate to their respective audiences. This topic in general is applicable to both types of audiences because of its use in both entertainment and careers.

Part 2 - What I have learned.

This week was short, so it mostly focused on our final video project. Thus, I learned more information on our topic (Generative AI in Gaming). It was an interesting project, which also helped me learn more about video editing. Huge thanks to my team for being supportive and willing to help. I once again took a test with the open learning initiative (OLI) on how I would respond to teammates in a professional and respectful manner in a made-up scenario. I believe I made better decisions this time, compared to the first time I took the test.

Here is the link to our videos.
