CST 498-499 - Module 15

 Week 15,

This week was a bit busy for me. I had to do another rework for a smaller portion of one of the main pages. It had to do with adding a game mode type involving teams, which would have required repeating sections of a match, one for each team, which I did not initially keep in mind when developing the page. To make matters worse, I also became very ill throughout the beginning of the week. However, I was able to get it done. Additionally, I was able to get a user to test the project, which went generally well. The main points where things could have been done better mainly had to do with the UI layout.

The plan for next week, or the next few days really, is to flesh out some of the UI and bugs that may be present in the project. Additionally, we have to start preparing for the end of the entire course, including updating our ILP portfolio, filling out our final journal entry, finishing our video presentation, etc. If all goes well for our presentation draft, these shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

The main challenge this week for me was reworking how the board game match would handle game modes where all users fall into one category vs teams. If there are no teams, then the user needs to be able to set the scores/placements for all players. If there are teams involved, then we need to change the layout to support teams of people instead of just one section of players. Additionally, the section needs to change so the user doesn't have to put the scores/placements of each player in a team if the team score/placement is what decides it anyways. We also need to prefill the team slots if the user is re-visiting the match.
